I think steeling some thing is ethical and because they didn't get caught the first time doesn't mean you wont get caught the next time you do it. Its not right to copy something you weren't supposed to. If you have something you need to copy you should ask your supervisor and not just copy something. You supervisor will tell you if you can copy it during or after work hours when everyone went home.
